Sunday News Summaries and Commentaries
More regurgitated and old news showing up today so far this morning....some tossed salad news about Dr. S....but nothing we haven't already either heard about or read about.....slight murmurs about the HCL.....let's just get it done so instead of talking about what is likely to happen we can celebrate what did happen.
Shammari: enactment of the oil and gas law will end all outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil
WOW.....this person is not telling us anything we don't already know.....the HCL will end outstanding issues between the Kurds and Baghdad..
I would suggest this is highly likely....they just need to make it happen....not just the agreement they have signed at the end of 2014....but the full HCL that will offer ownership and appropriate rights not just to the Kurds but to all Iraqis.....something that should have been done years ago.....get on with the plan and spread the wealth.
National Alliance: The current year's budget will be fruitful
Following on the coattails of a disaster like 2014 of course the 2015 budget should be fruitful....but then so would a big pile of cow piles from Mikey's herd....anything would be fruitful over the 2014 debacle.....all kidding aside though....what looks lucrative about this budget is that it will have carved so much corruption from what had been there in the past....it is poised to push responsibilities back to the provinces.....proving restored faith in their abilities to govern their own respective issues.....giving rights to all Iraqis....yes indeed there is fruit here.
Commanders: All our actions in Mosul was the knowledge of al-Maliki
So we have a committee that is attempting to investigate the fall of Mosul last June....looking at Maliki and any implication that he may have played in this disaster.....what they are finding is Maliki's name in various directions.....what is forthcoming from this committee should prove to be most interesting....watch what they do.
Parliamentary: the central government is obliged to send trillion and 300 billion dinars for the provincial government
Old news...old news....old news.....this woman has made the rounds this weekend.....she could be given the title of Iraqi spokesperson....did all other political entities take a holiday and leave her to deal with the press....the Central government paying 1.3 trillion dinars to the Kurds....we knew that.....the Kurds offering 250,000 barrels of oil a day.....again....we knew that....sigh.
Central Bank challenged the patent Shabibi .. and independence of the judiciary blown political interference
So now even the CBI is jumping on Dr. S's bandwagon and demanding his innocence based on lack of legal grounds....they are claiming it has all been a waste of public money....the effort that Maliki and crew used to pursue Dr. S since 2012......it all circles around their discomfort with the truth and finding themselves dealing with someone who could not be corrupted....praising Dr. S and his principles....again this is all old news....sigh.
Cabinet authorizes Investment Authority power to sign the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes
The COM authorized signatory power to the President of the Convention on Settlement of Investment Disputes....I think this is a good move....sharing of responsibility....but again we first heard this something like a week ago.
Parliamentary Integrity's "direction Press:" Iraq can not recover his money smuggled to the treasury without prior international agreement
Iraq continues to attempt to crack down on those who were believed to be smuggling money out of Iraq since 2003....we are talking trillions.....and it probably started right at the top...Maliki....check his pockets and don't forget the inside coat pockets either....and the false bottom briefcases....hope they can recover most if not all of this money....as well as what has been frozen in foreign bank accounts and other physical assets around the world.
Independent: resolving the outstanding issues between the center and the region remains under the completion of oil and gas law
They continue to talk about issues between the Central government and the "region"....meaning the Kurds....but at some point this discussion needs to get serious and talk about the good of all Iraqis....not just the Kurds.....this can be the first stepping stone for all Iraqis....but get on with the plan....lets sit down and share some worthy ideas and develop a plan for going forward for one and all.
Economist likely worsening cash crisis because of the austerity in the country
More talk of cash issues within Iraq....tell me something we haven't already heard......yes of course we know that oil prices have plummeted....we also are well aware that oil drives the Iraqi economy.....so you haven't planned well for such a rainy day....well shame on you....now pull up your big boy depends and get on with the program to fix things.
The joint technical committee between Baghdad and Erbil meet this month
So we know from the end of 2014 agreements were put into place between Baghdad and Erbil regarding oil production and exports....as well as payments to Kurd state employees and the Peshmerga.....but as always with anything there are technical details that we never hear about that have to be dealt with......this will probably be all that we hear of these tech committees and their forthcoming efforts.
All the arrogance and lies and imposture Nuri al-Maliki attributed the establishment of the popular crowd him
I would say that Maliki is a man without a country....he may serve legally at this time as VP of the Republic....but would suggest this is only a temporary until it can be decided at the proper level what to do with him.....how much can and will be tied to his name and policies that will be proven detrimental to all of Iraq and others around the world....the case continues to be built.....keep an eye on this activity.
Investigative Committee in money Development Fund for Iraq: oil revenues amounted to more than $ 370 billion between 2006-2009
Just a few short years saw Iraq making a whopping $370 billion dollars in oil revenues....times were good indeed.....so where is the monies to be divided between Iraqi citizens....check Maliki's coffers and start asking serious and probing questions.
Well, an interesting but still kind of ho-hum news day thus far....hopefully more to come.
