Bailey2: [Poppy3] THERE IS NOW STRONG WORDS THAT MALIKI IS OUT AND MANY ARE MANEUVERING TO POSITION FOR A GREATER IRAQ WITH NEW LEADERSHIP. I JUST HOPE THEY MAKE BETTER CHOICES THIS TIME THAN BEFORE...
[phase2] 8 pm 5/15 posted copy from Okie's site on TNT - included a chart I did not copy, just found his comments interesting: Ive done some snooping through the forex today and found you can actually see when trades at the new rates have happened. the IQD has been traded for the GBP (pound) at over 2 pounds
[phase2] The rest of it: per dinar. This also applies to the VND showing trades around $0.70 per VND. Seems like we are really almost there. D
[phase2] Found this in TNT - Too good to not pass along: The Illegitimate Revenue Agency (IRS) has just announced that the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) has been postponed from July 1, 2014 until January 1, 2016.
DC - ( From TNT CC Today) Here's what we have. Let's start on Wednesday: we were asked by one of the highest people we talk to not come on and have the call. We were happy to oblige and we are thankful he continues to help us. It was super-sensitive at that point. Several were saying "burn the place down" and that would not have helped.
The USA finally agreed Wednesday night to accept the rate, that was solved and put back into Iraq's hands. They wanted CBI and Iraq to make some more announcements.
It took most of yesterday to get that done. Today, rates have been popping up live throughout the world since yesterday morning off and on all day, all the way down to teller screens in some parts of the world. Then they turn off. On and off all evening and this morning as well.
DC - Some countries at the CBI level and some at the teller the rates have been on off and on. Announcements in Iraq were made again in the Mosques saying they're opening the banks up at 6PM for them exchange LDs.
They did open at 6PM local time. My understanding is that's already stopped for the day because it's late there. I did personally confirm with a person there in Baghdad - very anticlamatic - that they did in fact exchange.
