The cleric al-Sistani has sent an urgent memo to Iran, seeking to show his belief that al-Hakim should be the nominee for the next Iraqi PM.....he talks about Maliki and rejects any idea of an Iranian nomination or head nod towards Maliki at this point, rejecting a third term for him outright.....al-Sistani believes in the formation of a comprehensive government....not what was formed in 2010.....does this give Maliki a tougher road to run.....well he definitely will have his work cut out for him...that is for sure....as some of the upcoming articles will be quick to point out.

Now the brawling can begin.....al-Hakim refused a couple of days ago to even discuss with Maliki the possibility of a third term....hoping he has some good body guards.....his aim is to build and strengthen the National Alliance.....the meeting they had together was not a cordial meeting....according to the State of Law....they have a confirmed nominee....Maliki.....but al-Hakim just shakes his head and says....NO...this will never work.....two bulls in a china closet....which one is more the macho statesman that will come out on top.....never ever take your eyes off Maliki...ever.
Zamili: The bylaw of the National Alliance will be passed within the next two days
It is expected that the bylaws for the National Alliance will be passed in the next couple of days and will be binding for all political parties in the alliance.....any posturing before hand by any bloc regarding who the NA candidate would be is presumptuous at this point....once the bylaws are approved then each political bloc will submit its candidate for PM....and somehow, when all the dust settles....and I strongly believe there will be dust and fur flying for a while....then and only then will they come up with one candidate.....it was stated that the Citizen coalition outright rejects the idea of a third term as a matter of principle....no matter the person...squirrel....all the while Maliki was quoted as saying the the majority needed to form the next government has almost been achieved....his office claims he now has 175 seats/votes behind him....but not much mention as to where those are coming from.....again.....don't take your eyes off of Maliki....ever.
National Coalition calls for a state law to "withdraw the nomination of al-Maliki" for the post of prime minister
Several political blocs are getting their punches in early....ahead of even the approval of the bylaws for the National Alliance.....they seem to have a common theme....take Maliki off the ballot State of Law....I am shaking my head....there "appears" on the outside looking in to not be much support for Maliki outside the State of Law coalition.....but I still believe he is not to be thrown by the wayside yet....that he remains to be a force of reckoning for Iraq.....don't take your eyes off the man...ever.

Dust nominate the next prime minister will be launched wheels of the second meeting of the National Alliance
Again the next session of the National Alliance will put forth the bylaws and mechanisms that will be used to determine the next PM nominee for the NA....a single candidate....this of course is the preferred route of the State of Law coalition and they of course want and expect the candidate to be theirs.....in the form of Maliki.....but others are saying....not so much....not so quick.....but I still will say....you know what is coming......don't take your eyes off of Maliki....ever.
National Alliance fails to choose its candidate for prime minister
IMO this is one of those articles that puts the cart before the horse......the National Alliance hasn't even laid out their bylaws and the mechanisms they will use for their selection process, how could they bring forth a candidate at this point in time.....just bickering upon bickering....are they really just talking to hear themselves yack.....the Federal Judiciary has asked for their candidate....two days ago now....wondering how long they will be given to present their candidate....meanwhile....don't take your eyes off Maliki....ever.
Bahr al-Ulum: Focus on the rules of procedure of the alliance before the nomination of the Prime Minister
A member of the National Coalition is basically telling everyone to chill until we get the bylaws established and understand the mechanism upon which the the nominee from the National Alliance will be put forth.....stop bickering....stop trying to strong arm your way into the center of the arena....all bets are off the table at this point....bring on the second meeting of the NA and get the ball moving....y
you can reject all you want of anything you want.....but until you know the rules and learn the expectations of things will work...your efforts are a moot point....
but whatever you do.....don't take your eyes off Maliki...ever.
