Transparency Association warns of continuing to transfer money out of Iraq to account senior officials
Integrity....that was just one thing that Abadi said he would be looking for when choosing ministers.....what kind of integrity would someone have that pays to gain a ministerial position.....with Abadi probably won't get in the front door...with Maliki...received with open arms...Maliki might even crack a smile at them....change....big change.....is coming to Iraq and the world I think.
Statement of the Office of the Prime Minister-designate: Abadi reject any candidate for a ministerial post unless a competent and integrity
Talk about a great follow up post....way to go WS.....just what we needed after that first post.....competency...and....INTEGRITY....get the picture....bribes are not accepted here....how much louder does Abadi need to state that.
Barzani told the National Alliance, a preference for a prime minister from outside the Dawa Party
Barzani is getting the cart before the horse in making "demands" on anyone.....and even suggesting that a PM come from outside the Dawa party.....watch and see how far he gets with his demands.....the Kurds have been hurt over the years no doubt....they have been walked on no doubt.....they have been abused in many ways no doubt....but they must know and follow the rules on how things are to transpire in the political process. Being pushy at this point....IMO....is not in their best interest.
Coalition: Abadi Ministries will be free from corruption
The Iraqi people are getting the real deal it would seem in Abadi as a new Prime Minister....they, especially the political figures of Iraq need to breathe the fresh air he is pushing before them....corruption free government ministries......could this be but a pipe dream....or is he earnestly serious.....I tend to believe he is serious.....yes its been reported that at one point he was close to Maliki....but he has been given a gift......a position of high visibility and he appears to want to make a positive mark on Iraq while in this position. He just needs time to make thing work....time to show that a difference can be made....time to prove that Iraq can be improved....corruption-free....watch and see.
National Alliance's (et) rule out reducing its government for "15" and the Ministry of
Change is never easy to make or easy to accept.....Abadi is attempting to make change in the formation of his ministries by cutting down the number of ministries to start with and some are not happy about it....afraid that some representation may be lost by some key blocs.....makes me wonder if they are jumping to conclusions or have they seen the plan that he has in mind....we have yet to see his ministers....so it is hard to make the call at this point....at least from my vantage point.
Alliance forces: the draft negotiating with the government for the year
Some of this "negotiating" that is trying to transpire within Iraq is almost comical....Abadi hasn't been approved yet, his ministerial court hasn't been approved yet....but still there are those who demand....expect....desire things to happen that at this point may just be out of his control. One thing this article does point to that I believe is true....no support for anyone who supports the militants....anyone who is found to be fighting Iraq alongside the terrorists DAASH or ISIS.....indeed draw the red line in the sand and stick to it....this has to be if anyone expects to see a unified Iraq grow.
"Obelisk" publishes a mechanism for the distribution of ministries provided by the bloc in the coalition to weaken the major political blocs with small Bmsawadtha
Oh My Gosh....as if things in Iraq weren't complicated enough....what a proposal this would be.....the author of this "mechanism" must have a history of multi-level marketing in their background.....or they escaped from the USEPA....complicated and convoluted....it is....understandable....not so much....what happened to KISS...Keep It Simple Simon.
infallible emphasizes the need for officials to listen to the views and experiences of advisers and utilize them
President Massoum has a great idea here to listen to the voice of experience.....I would just add one catch to his idea....know who your "voice of experience" is and be sure they have competency and integrity before they are allowed to speak....I'm sure he has that in mind with his idea or he wouldn't have pushed it.
Kurdistan: You must agree to our conditions for participation in the next government
This MUST be the "in" method for promoting a new government and winning friends.....I can only shake my head at this "strong-arm" attempt by the Kurds....it will be interesting to see if they get all their "demands" met when this new government is seated...maybe they will....they have surely been mistreated for a number of years.....I will concede that point to them any day of the week.
Kurds are involved in talks on forming a new government
WOW....what a difference it makes to hear Foreign Minister Zebari make in saying that the Kurds are working towards the formation of a new government.....some definite negotiation skills at work here....shows that while he worked for/with Maliki he maintained some level of integrity himself. He is firm in his approach of whether the Kurds will participate in the new government or not....never pushy.....Zebari assures Abadi that the Kurds do have a list of demands they want brought to the table....typically those things that Maliki was notorious for ignoring or overlooking for the last 8 years.
Hakim calls Abadi to work as a candidate for the coalition and not the rule of law
Abadi is being reminded that it was the National Alliance that nominated him not the State of Law....that he needs to work as that candidate....not that of the State of Law....staying focused on the need for a clear vision, as well as a harmonious and efficient team....to remain focused on getting Iraq out of the current crisis of security issues while creating a government focused on unity across all of Iraq.
Americans in the "circle of advisers," Abadi
I am a bit surprised by this....that three Americans would be identified as working with Abadi in the capacity of advisors in forming his government...but then again, maybe it is a good thing.....especially if they can be a constant reminder to him about Maliki's shortcomings and the need to stay focused upon unity efforts.
Maliki's coalition: the selection of new ministers has not yet begun and Abadi technocratic mentality will not accept Balvasudain
There are rumors flying that the State of Law and Maliki may indeed be pressuring Abadi with names that should be in his government...but there are also those from the State of Law that say these rumors are false...that names that have been put forward fail the litmus test that Abadi is insisting upon that they have competency and integrity.....makes one wonder about who Maliki had about him in the first place.....even those faces put to Facebook are of questionable sources....Abadi will announce his team when he is ready....until then all is just conjecture on the part of the media....take it with a grain of salt and lime.
Specialists: preoccupation with the political blocs to form a government postpone the adoption of the budget
Will there be a quorum at tomorrow's Parliament session.....will they read the budget.....or is there too much focus on getting the government seated at this point. Time will tell.....one thing is for sure....Iraq continues to lose great sums of money each day they do not have a budget in place.
Badr bloc: the National Alliance would win 51 percent of ministries
This article points to the idea that the National Alliance may end up with 51% of the named ministries by Abadi.....I would like to think that Abadi is working on something that will show real unity for Iraq....it might even surprise those associated with the National Alliance.....Iraq desperately needs unity in all areas and they have a good start with how Parliament has been shaped and operating in the recent weeks, as well as President Massoum's efforts....
it is not time for Abadi to kick things in the teeth and say...no...we aren't going to have unity....we are going to hang heavy on the side of the NA.....but time will tell.
Well my fingertips are worn to the nubs today by all the news.....hope this helps someone.....CC soon folks.
