Experts: Iraqi dinar "at the mercy of the dollar" because of the activation of a basket of foreign currencies
Experts within the CBI are suggesting they should be linking the IQD to a basket of currencies and not just to the USD....by doing so would potentially take away some of the volatility of being pegged to a single currency and spread over a mixture of pre-chosen currencies that would be selected based on how well they serve the IQD
they are also quick to point to the performance of the USD over the past 12 years has not been stellar.....no move in such a direction appears to be forthcoming from the CBI at this point.
Federal ratify the election results and excludes the four deputies because of lawsuits

The Peshmerga will remain in Kirkuk....as if anyone expected them to pick up camp and say all is well, see ya' later......the Peshmerga officers are reporting their efforts in and around Mosul has turned from defensive to offensive....it looks like the Kurds intend to hang onto as much real estate as they can get their hands on at this point in time. Again more warnings about being wary of what some news sources are putting out in the way of updates.

Maliki is reportedly claiming the National Safety Law and with it a national emergency declaration is not necessary.....Maliki claims what happened in Mosul and other areas was not expected....but the terrorists will be held accountable for their actions....as will the military that allegedly ran from their posts....he claims the media overplayed what was happening and that Mosul never fell to the terrorists....but claims the stories put forth were the results of politicians.

Deputy Prime Minister Shaways reports that Maliki did not want to be seen as working with the Kurds and the Peshmerga regarding security measures to stem the push of the militant groups who moved through Mosul and Tikrit and other cities enroute to Baghdad.....he is making claims that many of the Army on post in Ninevah were actually officers and men from the old regime and not loyal to Baghdad or Maliki at all.....with regards to ISIS he believes their support is coming from Saudi Arabia and Qatar....which sounds logical.....Shaways is a Kurd himself.
World Cup and warrants paid deputies to leave Iraq
Pack your bags the Brazil express is pulling out of the station.....one way tickets offered to watch the World Cup....how interesting to have planned this ahead of time....even ahead of the fall of Mosul....no mention if any were detained in their travel plans yet or not.....an earlier report did say that some had left Baghdad for areas in the Kurdistan....the Liberal bloc is also making some noise towards the Federal Court but not sure they really have the authority to do anything.
The arrival of 550 U.S. soldiers to the Persian Gulf aboard the battleship descriptive

Here's an update on the 550 troops mentioned above....they are Marines and are actually aboard the USS Mesa Verde on station in the Persian Gulf....having met up with the carrier USS George HW Bush....still no decision forthcoming from O on the action to be taken or the direction of any US forces against the terrorists/militants.....wondering how many balls he lost yesterday in Southern California.

The Iraqi crisis with the terrorists/militants heats up the Gulf area markets and they are starting to show some wear and tear from it....all posting downtrends in their respective markets.
Wrapping up the morning summaries.....keep in mind the news articles are often not telling the full truth....sometimes by mistake, but many times by design....
Things are changing even as we are putting them up on the forum....there is just no way that so much can all be truthful....
IMO.....I agree with Frank....what we are being fed is not real situation....
IMO...most of the US news is not coming directly from people on the ground....so they are getting news second or third hand in many cases...
and the Iraqi news is grossly being twisted to fit any number of political agendas.....IMO. Randy
