Citizen bloc spokesman: There are attempts to persuade Maliki to occupy another post

12/08/2014 10:13:00

BAGHDAD / NINA / The official spokesman for the citizen coalition, Balq Abu Kala said that there are dialogues with ongoing Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to persuade him to occupy other positions in the new government.

He added in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "the objectors to assign Haider Abadi are al-Maliki and his team, not all of the state of law also no one of the main leaders objected , Alkhozai, Badr bloc despite not signing a document's nomination of al-Abadi. "

He said the leaders of the Dawa Party and the coalition of state of law tried to persuade al-Maliki to step down, but he rejected that strongly and rejected any other candidate.

He said that Nouri al-Maliki has good seats and he can hold any position other than head the next government. "In reference to the position of vice president.

He added that "Maliki is able to play an important political role in the next stage if he consort with other national powers" ./ end

This annoys me slightly, the guy needs to rot in hell not be part of the new goi, he will just try to screw it up as often as he can.

i dont think he will take any other position but if he's smart he will and unfortunately for us that will also give him immunity from prosecution. Lets see how smart this dweeb really is. I think he's way past rational thought tbh, he wants all the power and nothing less.

State of Law does not recognize Abadi's assigning Print Save     12/08/2014 12:13:00

BAGHDAD / NINA / The State of Law Coalition confirmed that it will not participate in the next government for not recognizing its legitimacy and had handed evidence to the Federal Court to appeal the assigning of Haider al-Abadi.

The MP of the state of law, Haitham al-Jubouri told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "The State of Law coalition officially registered in the election commission, headed by Maliki, who is secretary-general of the Dawa Party."

He added, "Haider al-Abadi does not have the right to sign for the Dawa party or state of coalition and no one can does that."

Jubouri touted that Abadi has 38 MPs support his candidacy from within the state of law, asking him to display their names and signatures.

He said that his coalition handed evidence to the Federal Court to challenging Abadi's assigning , since state of law still is the biggest bloc which won the most number of seats and the other has no right to nominate a prime minister.

Indicating that his coalition will not participate in the government does not recognize the legitimacy of the mandate and will take serious steps after the announcement of the Federal Court. / End

just a guy:
Doesnt seem like we are hearing the whole situation. I mean he is impossible to get rid of. He just will not leave?

RissasDad:
Thanks Schiz and I agree with you.

1.  The guy appears to have attempted a coup.  He will be brought up on crimes by the World Court.  He will do anything to hold on to power, and you want to give this guy a position in the new government?

2.  Any SOL member who still supports Maliki after all this deserves to be left behind.  Im glad you wont participate in the next government, means they can get some things done after 8 friggin years.  The SOL is now irrelevant as a political bloc.

3.  You are right other than occasional CoM news and we support Abadi comments, we are going to see alot of either bluster from Maliki or articles like the last one.

4.  This guy has lost his mind and I am glad this kind of stuff is getting out in the media for the people to see.  I dont believe the coup he attempted was as big of a move as we are led to believe.

There were contradictory tweets and first hand info that said the Pres Palace was never surrounded, havent heard or seen pictures of any damage from any explosion that apparently "rocked" Massum's home.

Even the news about MPs and Jabouri being confined to their hotel seems bogus because Jabouri was at the photo-op of Abadi being announced and signing documents.

I just dont buy all of this coup info.  There wasnt anyone killed or even shots fired, doesnt that seem a little odd if a coup was attempted.  Maliki is a joke as is his son "heading" the military.

He is largely being ignored.  He is so irrelevant at this point he's throwing temper tantrums and crying because he is dillusional and thinks he deserves to be the PM again.  In his sick mind there is no possible choice but him.  He is truly pathetic.

RissasDAD:
Preacher Man, For this reason alone they need to muzzle this guy immediately.  He can still slow the process with intimidation.  He needs to be forcably removed or killed.   They are using the media to paint a picture that is preparing the population for one of these endings for Maliki.

Revbo:
I think it's time we all stop worrying so much about Maliki and just sit back and enjoy the implosion. This man is coming unglued, and I, for one, have never enjoyed observing a psychotic break so much. Come to think of it, I've never enjoyed watching a psychotic break at all.

Maybe that's why this is so much fun. Never been big on schadenfreude, but if anyone deserved to lose it, it's this guy.

Lojak:
Well said Revbo, and I HIGHLY doubt Maliki will get any position in govt.  I still believe that he will see the light pretty shortly and vamoose.(is that how you spell vamoose?)) lol.

I do agree its kinda fun watching this clown, melt down--hey I'm a poet and didnt know it !

rissas dad:
I would normally agree with you guys, but the article this morning of the MPs afraid to show up for the CoM meeting says Maliki is not out of this process and has intimidated them enough that they fear showing up for the meeting which I assume has to do with the new CoMs under Abadi.

Lojak:
If you just dissed your former boss, wouldnt you want to skip a meeting too--I dont think its as dramatic as it seems...IMO

rissas dad:
thanks lojak, so you are saying this has to do with Malikis CoMs not showing up to a current CoM meeting, and not the future ministers under Abadi?  The article did not mention if was current ministers and current cabinet or future under Abadi.

Mainelorax:
Maybe this one can be filed in the same place as the reports of large portions of the new GOI being taken hostage the other night.  How many sources have stated the ministers aren't there?

or maybe they are meeting in secret so they can get stuff done without Maliki making stupid threats and disrupting.  He seems like a homeless guy with dementia.

You never know what he will do next and he could turn violent, or maybe he will just yell at everyone and make them take a different route to work until he's arrested

Tlar:
Maliki will have to be taken out along with the leadership on the SOL before this is over.  They are defiant to the end and will never reliquish power.

Abadi immedately needs to pow wow with the generals of the Iraqi army asap and tell the guy who is the highest ranking officer in the army that is known to be not loyal to Maliki or his kid, that he is immediately being promoted to run the army under Abadi at least for the next year.

He needs to tell him to immediately remove Maliki's kid and to tell "his" army that they now work for him and to stand down and take no more orders from Maliki starting now.

This new head of the army needs to tell those in the army that are still loyal to Maliki they need to understand that Maliki can't protect them anymore and if they continue their loyalty to him, they will find themselves on the wrong side of the Pesmerga, Sadrist militia and the US and Iraqi army.

The new head of the army needs to recapture their loyalty or remove them of their positions. This will remove Maliki's so called power and reduce confusion.   Somebody get this message to Abadi quick.  lol tlar.

Mally:
Kerry urges cabinet to be formed quickly, story on cnn

http://www.cnn.com/2014/08/12/world/meast/iraq-crisis/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

RDaddy:
Abadi has up to 30 days to name his new COM, so this would refer to the old regime

Rissas Dad:
rDiddy I get that.  Was thinking it could have been a meeting of future ministers under Abadi.  Like if Abadi called those in whom he was considering and they were afraid to show up.  To me that seems more plausible than the current ministers under Maliki meeting.   Why would they be meeting at all?  Lame ducks with bullseyes on them, unless Maliki tried to call them in.  Too much speculation with this article.  Moving on.

lojak:
this was the regular COM meeting that was to happen this am.  A couple of the key players, namely Shastriani , declared they werent coming.  Its no big deal really...they just dont want a confrontation with the man they just dissed. This has nothing to do with the new cabinet

 Dr. Gann:
