Article quote: "After the Eid holiday, parliament will start its performance so we hope to endorse the Budget Law and the Federal Court Law."
Well - I did say the next 72 hours would be exciting - and it sure has started out with a BANG - those are two VERY BIG laws.

"Safi said he 'remained one week of the constitutional deadline mandated by President candidate biggest bloc to form the next government..." so there is one more week as of yesterday constitutionally to form new gov. my opinion is that they have the right president...if he is not going to use his powers to place who he wants without the go ahead from all parties that speaks highly of his character -- he has the right but wants all to agree...he states that if he is backed into a corner without the pm being placed by all he will not remain in his position – i dont believe he would leave such an honor as it is but --- to say that and demand the work to be done is a huge change from where they were with the past gov...i would not be shocked if they follow the constitutional deadline as we have seen that as a pattern lately.
“…Rudaw has learned that Iraq’s acting Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has urged Massoum to nominate him “since he represents the largest coalition in the parliament.” "The president has reportedly declined Maliki’s appeal and said he would not use his presidential powers to nominate anyone “without the clear support of all Iraqi factions…”
Maliki is essentially asking Fuad Massoum (POR) to bypass the first (and preferable) constitutional method and go directly to the “appoint me” method…Massoum is basically saying – he would resign before having to do so.
