Parliament has a huge incentive to get the 2014 budget approved....if they can just get all members on the same track and line of thought maybe this will take place soon.
Approval of the lending Iraqi Airways $ 300 million
An approval for $300 million USD to buy civilian airplanes.....stemming back to commitments made in 2008...or actually requests made to two different aircraft manufacturers.....lot of moola from someone who has little to no money.....guess they will loan anyone money.....I need a home loan please.

Yes more positive steps.....get people active and get them thinking about the stuff that is important and vital to the success of the country.....get some money flowing.
Cabinet disrupts the official working week in all state departments
Heads up Family....this is the Kurds who are proposing a holiday period next week from Sunday to Thursday.....for the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.....this DOES NOT at this time apply to all of Iraq....but it could change in a moments notice.
Economist: Government to provide classes small cash if paid salaries in dollars
This is a decision that the Kurdistan government has been forced to make because of the lack of commitment to salary payments by Baghdad over the earlier calendar months for 2014.......it should not have an affect a significant affect on the dinar in a negative way....time will tell.
Uniting likely to postpone the presidential election until after the feast
The United Bloc appears to be urging the new Speaker of Parliament to hold off on elections for the Presidency of the Republic until after the Eid al-Fitr feast....but there is no official word forthcoming yet from him as to what direction he intends for Parliament to take, other than to start pushing for committee formulation to begin work on budget discussions for 2014.
Iran nominate four names for the premiership away from al-Maliki
Adel Abdul-Mahdi, and Ahmed Chalabi, and Ibrahim al-Jaafari, and Tarek Najm....four names that are high on the Iranian radar screen today for potential replacement of Maliki.....none that are really shockers either I believe....these names were given over to the National Alliance coalition for consideration.
Maliki will work to strip the post of the Commander in Chief for the next prime minister
Oh this so sounds like Maliki now all of a sudden is doing the new PM a favor by separating powers.....what a swell guy he is....NOT....do not trust anything anywhere that he has left in place once he leaves....count all the silverware....and the fine china as well....open all boxes to assure nothing is booby-trapped.

Speaker: the ballot for the position of president of the republic tomorrow without a political consensus
It would appear that maybe a vote is coming tomorrow for the Presidency of the Republic.....that will be good if they can pull it off....all potential candidates that have met qualification requirements will be on equal footing....no advantage to any political bloc....the question remains....will the Kurds be able to maintain their hold on the Presidency....time is ticking.
Iraq agrees to a contract to build a warehouse of oil worth 607 million dollars
HMMMM....with $607 million USD's.....how big of a storage tank for oil do you think one could build......it seems an odd way to convey the message that we are going to build a tank or tanks.....instead call it a warehouse.....confuse the normal people....get them thinking of some huge building.....this might bear watching.....it will be constructed in or near Nasiriyah....where they already have a good size refinery in operation.
Turkish exports to decline by 35% Iraq
Well there is no budget for 2014 yet....people by the thousands are not being paid.....so where would the money be to buy any Turkish exports.....just saying.....sure things are down....35% in July and 21% in June....IMO....to be expected....the old "trickle-down theory"
Reconciliation": Allawi quotas away from the presidency
So Allawi chose not to run for President....and this affects us how???
Supposedly he sees the Presidency as headed the wrong direction on a one way street in front of the Police Station....bound to get caught...
.I did that once by the way.....and didn't get caught...
boy was I embarrassed.....guess he should try it sometime....might get him further than he realizes.
