U.S. court scraps order to seize Kurdish crude from tanker near Texas
Another US court threw out the order to seize the 1 million barrels of crude oil that sits anchored off the Texas coast....but please be wary of the US court system and how they work....one court has ruled to confiscate...another has now ruled to leave the oil alone....what will another court say....or will the oil truly be allowed to find its way into the US refining system unscathed.....we may not have heard the last of this tanker of oil just yet.
Abadi hold a press conference at noon today
Notice that Abadi gave this press conference and yet managed to hold his cards close to his chest not giving out a read on who his choices were at this point in time.....a good sign...maybe we shall see.....he did speak on the idea of resolving differences between Baghdad and the Kurdistan....knowing that is a big issue for him to deal with...same as with the Sunnis and their faith in the government....but let the decisions be made about the council and Abadi and then see where things go from there.
....
The introduction of electronic payment to expand the work of banks and transmission, bold for the banking sector
More talk about electronic banking cards and e-technology for phones in order to accomplish banking needs within Iraq....all stemming from the CBI....they are pushing the banking sector towards these concepts and saying that Iraqi banks need to move further than they are currently in order to be able to work with other global banking institutions in a manner that will allow their customers global access to the world of finance....additionally the mode of electronic payments will provide more customer security from having to carry around large sums of cash as has been done in the past.....the CBI continues to push Iraqi banks to license this type of operation to further their abilities to help customers going forward.
Dentex approached the TBI to support the local government in light of the delay in budget
The Baghdad Provincial government has approached the Trade Bank of Iraq for financial support because the state budget still has not been approved....they appear to be hitting the streets and beating a variety of bushes looking for money to help fund projects within the provincial area that are going stagnant due to the slow playing of the budget for 2014....promises promises are being seen as empty efforts these days...."show me the money" is more the tune of the day.
Parliament does the Finance Committee to resolve differences interim budget
More squabble in Parliament concerning who has the right to resolve budget differences.....who really cares...just put something viable on the table.....something that can be agreed upon....at this point....there is nothing to deal with....bring something to the table....let this committee attempt to get it's work done...it has a charge from the Speaker of Parliament and they have yet to deliver on that charge....albeit....the committee no longer has a leader now that Abadi has been named PM-elect....but that just means that someone else needs to step up to the plate and hit the ball.
Integrity Commission to involve managers in the municipality of Al-Muthanna seminar to explain the law in force and discipline of staff
Integrity Commission....now there is something you didn't hear much about during Maliki's time in office.....it will be interesting to see where this commission goes as they move forward....managers being retrained in the area of integrity....obviously needed very badly.
Vice Kurdistan: Mosul Dam under the control of the Peshmerga and there is progress toward Zammar and Afar
Take notice of who is making these advances....the Peshmerga....not the Iraqi Army....and they are working in close conjunction of the US flyboys....who have been providing precision air support in wiping out pockets of DAASH terrorists who have no place in Iraq.....let them know they are not wanted and need to skeedaddle back from whatever rock they came....meanwhile the Mosul Dam is back in the hands of the Peshmerga at this point.
Jubouri meet with the heads of local governments to discuss activating the law of provincial councils
There has been some noise of activating some laws at the provincial levels....this may be the first of such talks to make it so....things that "do not fall under the Central Government" or so it would seem....in other words the Speaker of Parliament is meeting with Provincial leadership to determine what can be given back to them that was taken away by Maliki or his underlings in the past 8 years.....putting responsibility back where it belongs in most cases....this includes responsibility for the petrodollar ($5/barrel) as well.
Kurdish lawmaker: our meeting with the National Alliance and Abadi positive
At least one member of the Kurdistan negotiation team seems to be happy with the way things have gone before the National Alliance and Abadi thus far.....stating that they are moving away from any former marginalization of the past....perhaps it is still too early to tell how things will fall in the end but they seem to be making good progress at this point.
Daash order the owners of the banks to open accounts of citizens in order to obtain funding
Banks are starting to reopen their doors to customers again...in those areas where there does not seem to be a fear of DAASH any longer...but for some jeweler markets and goldsmiths of Mosul their livelihood may not be so easy to rebuild....since DAASH has managed to loot much of what they had on hand in their inventories....hopefully they were able to remove much of their inventory before DAASH came in.
State Islamic banks reopen in Mosul and put Ea to deal with it
This has to be a good sign Family, that the banks are being encouraged to reopen.....they would not be exposing them to potential terrorist threats if there was any doubt about them opening and remaining open.....so to me a good sign.
Washington expects the formation of a government-Abadi, in conjunction with the tour, Obama Br, negative early next September
Washington is expecting Abadi's government to be formed by Sept 4th....interesting....so that it would coincide with a tour by Obama to Europe.....so now America is taking credit for the formation of the Abadi government....and the US is "still" present in Iraq.....oh I thought we had left "lock stock and barrel" as of the end of 2011.....anything to make Obama look good....regardless of what he might be saying in front of the camera.....cough...cough....the support this administration has given towards the emergence of an inclusive government....if one were to believe this article this administration is the sole reason for the government we are about to see blossom in Iraq.....but it hasn't been all that long ago this administration was saying we have nothing to do with Iraq or the formation of their government....wonder where the truth really might lay.
Washington proposes to activate the sofa and the adoption of the six provinces of the federal and redistribute wealth fairly
Someone needs to tell the cart to slow down so the horses can get caught up I think....the US is back to making demands on Iraq it seems....pointing towards equal distribution of oil funds to the provinces....so lets send a delegation to Iraq that is headed up by a State Department underling.....not Kerry.....and see what we can get done towards the disengagement of the state with the provinces.....interesting times of negotiations it would seem.
National Alliance: the drafting of the government program will end in two days and will agree to the demands of any size
The National Alliance leadership is saying that the government of Abadi will be announced in the next couple of days...and in conjunction with that any demands of size that follow the Iraqi Constitution will be agreed upon as well.....any that do not follow the Constitution will be rejected out of hand.
Send to discuss the federal government employees' salaries Kurdistan Region
So the "Federal Cabinet" is saying pay the Kurds two months salary....after denying them payment for so many months....are they suddenly having a change of heart....finding compassion....or what....or maybe just the dying efforts of a lame duck cabinet....seeing is believing.
Jubouri: Parliament legislation binding laws and import and distribution of wealth to the provinces
More talk between al-Jubouri and the provincial governments regarding the decentralization of government in many areas and for many issues....new and interesting talk for many Iraqis I am sure....they also discussed security issues and how to best deal with security problems going forward.....as well as the petrodollar program.
Deputy for reform: some unreasonable demands of the masses and outside the powers of the Abadi
As we have seen from Abadi himself....some demands being placed upon him and the National Alliance in forming the new government have been very unreasonable...and some just are flat outside the responsibility of Abadi....at least at this time....give the guy time to get his feet on the ground and able to walk a bit before you start hitting him with the kitchen sink.....meanwhile the key is to get him the names of your potential candidates for his ministerial staff....one thing at a time.
General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers establish a TRAINING course in the field of the development of executive departments
Incredible that things start to come out of the woodwork now that the Council of Ministers and the General Sec are on their way out the door.....a training course....a 5 day course on development of executive departments......did Maliki truly rule with such an iron fist that these components could not be brought forward before now.....how incredible.
Kuwait Energy: Violence in Iraq overcome its worst level and the oil companies now operating normally
The CEO of Kuwait Energy is saying that the worst of the violence seems to be over in Iraq.....things are returning to normal and oil activities are going back to normal....as normal as they can be.....in fact Kuwait Energy is looking for more projects in Iraq.
President to convene a national reconciliation conference with the participation of all heads of denominations and sects
Iraqi President Massoum is wanting to convene a reconciliation conference on a national level with participation by all heads of denominations and sects within Iraq today to discuss issues they each feel they have and is seeking help in moving forward to make unified changes in Iraq.....
he is quick to also suggest that any change will not happen quickly...but support is needed and required from everyone if they are to move forward and improve Iraq for the benefit of all Iraqi citizens.
Well here is where I call for a break....after many ups and downs from the chair this morning to give my backside many much needed breaks.....the news summaries for your reading pleasure.
