thanks tlar!! Just curious why you think it will be 3-7 days after the government formation for the cbi to act? I was under the impression before that you thought it would be almost instant.
I apologize if I misunderstood and I realize this sitution is fluid and events or intel may of changed your opinion. Thanks again for sharing what you are hearing and I understand if you cant or dont want to elaborate on a possible timeline
Just covering my butt. There are a lot in dinar land that are saying some pretty nasty things about me according to some emails sent to me by friends.
So if I was to say by "Thursday" and it took a couple of extra days, they would tear me up. This is Iraq and people are the ones doing this. All plans work perfectly until you add people into the mix. tlar
Tlar, just curious...
Do you think, once the gov't is seated & the currency has Revalued, do you think it will be announced through the media like the fighting is now??
My opinion on an announcement is it will be announced in the Iraqi news but almost no mention in the US.
Don't look for balloons or a parade here. It will be kept as quite as possible because our government wants it that way.
You may or may not even spread the word yourself.
Dinarians will know immediately and that may also be why the banks are setting up to buy billions by the push of a button in advance. Huge profits and no lines.
Anyway we also would be best not to brag or make yourself visable unless you intend to loan alot of money to people you don't even know. Having alot of money has its own problems. tlar
Blue I am very interested in seeing how they handle the fact that the Treasury will have new money and the debt reduced.
About a year or so ago they passed a law saying the Treasury could use foreign currency reserves to pay off debt.
That law as I recall allows the US for the very first time in its history to do this. Tlar

BAGHDAD - Iraq Press -1 in July: It was the beginning of the meeting of leaders of the National Alliance in the house of Ibrahim al-Jaafari, on Monday evening, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, on the last day of his second term, seemed to insist on Petrhha for the post of prime minister in the coming initially.
Says a close one of the leaders of the coalition participating in the meeting, said that "the leader of the Supreme Council Ammar al-Hakim, and the Sadrist movement, such as Karrar al-Khafaji, objected strongly to put the name of al-Maliki."
And apparently the latter was expected this rejection on the basis of predetermined positions announced by the Supreme Council and the Sadrists threw down, for the first time, an explicit alternative to his leadership in a state of law and director of his private office Tarek Najm.
this is an interesting phrase i just noticed after reading the article again...
"...especially after the intense controversy within the National Alliance to reject outright the owners (maliki) and the alternative, (his stooge) which is the point of a major shift in attitude Head of the government."
they want an all inclusive GOI and they ain't going for any of maliki's deals.
that must be why they went back to maliki's, to go over "plan b
Hakim knows full well.. the very best thing that can happen is a peaceful transfer of power. That is a hallmark of a Democracy.
-Here in the US... when George Washington turned down the offer of kingship, and peacefully handed over power to an elected successor... it was a milestone in human history. Never before had it happened in such a way.. it was an outgrowth of the Enlightenment. No more would Kings conquer for power and rule by "Divine Right".
-It is important for the Iraqis to democraticly use the Parliamentary system, based on the Iraqi Constitution, to move forward. To remove maliki by force, stains the democratic process. Even Sadr sees that, and is on board. Nearly everyone is on board.. except for Maliki's crooked goons.
-That is why we have not seen Nouri eat a lead sandwich.
i did see where allawi and his people are boycotting the parlimentry session based on the "conditions in the country". wonder if their votes will be missed?
The SOL has not got the votes and the coalition does. Its just arguing and the SOL leadership is still trying to find a way.
Tomorrow the truth will surface. It is a forgone conclusion.
Maliki out, Maudi in. tlar.
