I was absent at RMN Thursday and here is why:
I woke up to loud yelling Thursday morning after Luella had a nasty scorpion sting on her finger which was horribly painful. In short order, her entire left arm becoming numb to the point she could not wiggle her fingers as well as a headache and nausea. She is fine now, but it was scary for awhile. Perhaps what we did can be instrumental if any of you have the same experience:
First we put a Bentonite clay poultice on her finger where she was bitten (to help draw out the venom). Then we iced the wrist area to slow down blood flow and we kept the wrist and hand elevated to heart level. Luella immediately began taking 1000 mg of Turmeric (reputed to be an instant cure for scorpion stings), 1000 mg of Bromelain (supposed to break up the venom) and repeated every couple of hours. She first drank a tall glass of water with a couple teaspoons of vanilla extract (to help with her headache, along with the turmeric). Thereafter she also begin drinking glasses of superior Utopia Silver colloidal silver (silver has been reputed to help break up scorpion and other venoms and is a supreme pathogen destroyer).
Then we kept a close eye to make sure that the numbness did not spread or that none of the other symptoms of severe scorpion sting reaction occur - namely, difficulty swallowing, a thick tongue, blurred vision, roving eye movements, seizures, salivation, and/or difficulty breathing. If such had happened, a fast trip to the ER would have happened. Thankfully she began to improve almost immediately and within a couple of hours was mostly back to normal. It wiped me out, on the other hand!
