First image from landed probe of the surface of the comet: It sure looks like rock to me

Very little mention of "dirty snowballs" now as the Philae probes ice harpoons failed to engage (making its successful landing quite a bit of luck), and furthermore take a look at the first image below. The landing area was selected because it appeared smooth and uniform, and was basically in the bottom of a crater, increasing chances that the surface was actually ice. While some ice might be found later, this first image sure doesn't look like it:
